ATTENDANCE POLICY: The association strongly encourages all umpires to make every effort to attend all meetings so as to receive the full benefit of training and rules preparation fro the season. The official Attendance Policy for umpires to be eligible for tournaments shall be:
Each umpire is REQUIRED to attend the minimum specified number of meetings. Meeting credit will NOT be granted for partial attendance. Umpires must sign in to a meeting no later than 15 minutes after the official start of the meeting. Umpires who leave a meeting early will be removed from the sign-in sheet and shall NOT receive meeting credit. Failure to obtain proper credit will be reflected in an umpire’s assignments and will exclude an umpire from any post-season assignments at any level of play
Each umpire must attend THREE meetings from: (M) Mechanics/Rules,
and
ONE meeting from: (B) Regular Business meetings.
Groupings are listed in parentheses at the end of each meeting line
It is highly recommended that all umpires take the Part II National Federation Exam.
Credit will also be given for umpires who attend the KHSAA sponsored Umpires Camp or other approved training opportunities.
It is highly recommended (and expected) that umpires receiving tournament assignments will attend the Tournament Umpires Meeting to review assignments and mechanics.
Any questions about these dates or policies, please contact an NKBUA Board Member.
